For PC: VLC 2.1.3
The VideoLAN team announced the latest version of VLC Media Player i.e. VLC Media Player 2.1.3 for PC users. Users who use this player will get the update notification once they run VLC Media Player with their internet connected.
The update process is simple as always. From the update notification, just click on Yes to begin downloading the latest version of VLC Media Player.
Within a few moments, the update file will be downloaded. After successful download of the update files, you will be prompted to continue with the installation. Once you hit the install button, VLC Media Player will close. You will be asked for permission to make changes to your PC. Then, some files are extracted and you are presented with the VLC Media Player 2.1.3 setup wizard.
Hit next in the installation wizard and choose upgrade VLC in the options that follow, hitting next to continue. Files will be extracted, copied and replaced; to upgrade from your older version of VLC. After this installation process, you will be able to enjoy the latest version of VLC Media Player.
Some notable changes in VLC 2.1.3:
- Fix the display of album art in Windows.
- Improved demuxer and decoders for various formats and interfaces.
- Updated several translations to make them even better.
- Fixed encrypted DVD playback.
- Fixed broken behavior with SOCKSv5 proxies.

For Mac: VLC 2.1.4 and 2.0.10
It is a known fact that VLC media player is available for a wide array of platforms. So, there is no doubt that this software is available for Mac users as well. There are actually two versions for Mac users that are out as of now.
Version 2.1.4: This version is meant for Intel Mac users. This one solved DVD playback regression issues.
Version 2.0.10: This is the version for PowerPC users. This one introduced several minor improvements and bug fixes.
